International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3 December

To eradicate the discrepancies preventing people with disabilities enjoying growth and development with the world, we must remember to assist and support them in whatever way we are able to, especially those poorest or most vulnerable.

This World Day follows the Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

International Day of Persons with Determination, 3 December

This is an initiative run by the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention “to increase global awareness of the problems of people of determination and provide support to enable them to live healthily and positively”.

World Soil Day, 5 December

The health of the soil and the quality and availability of water are interconnected.

Over 95% of all food comes from soil nourished by water. Maintaining and protecting both in the face of overpopulation, climate change, and bad maintenance, is of vital importance.

This World Day follows the Sustainable Development Goals 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

The Coalition of Action for Soil Health will co-host events at COP28 in relation to the Day to the 12th December at the Food Services Pavilion (at Dubai Expo City).

International Anti-Corruption Day, 9 December

The World Day is to remind everyone that combating crime is their responsibility, not just those of authorities, and everyone has to do their part. This year’s theme, UNCAC at 20: Uniting the World Against Corruption, also will showcase progress made in this endeavor, and what may need work on in the future.

This World Day follows the Sustainable Development Goals 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Human Rights Day, 10 December

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights turns 75 years old. The theme of Freedom, Equality and Justice for All, reminds that human rights is still of concern especially in the current day, for all of mankind.

This World Day follows the Sustainable Development Goals 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
