Proclaimed from 2022, this World Day is to draw attention to this important part of 0.1% of the ocean, a habitat to thousands of species, a water filter, and a large absorber of carbon. Despite this, they are still in danger of decline and destruction.
This Day follows the Sustainable Development Goals 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 13 (Climate Action), and 14 (Life Below Water).
World Wildlife Day, 3 March
Set in 2013 to commemorate the 1973 Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, the day is a reminder to honor and preserve wildlife globally.
This Day follows the Sustainable Development Goals 13 (Climate Action), 14 (Life Below Water)m and 15 (Life On Land).
International Women’s Day, 8 March

This year’s theme of Rights, Equality, Empowerment; reminds that there need to be equal opportunity and support for all, as women are essential for a change to progress and development.
This Day follows the Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty), 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 11 (Reduced Inequalities), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
